Shakespeare Flying High
There is something special about experiencing Shakespeare in his own land (“This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England….”) Maybe it’s the training actors receive here, but for some reason Shakespearean English mellifluously trips off their tongues, and it seems easier to lose one’s self in the rhythm of the language here.
The Bard’s magic is in full display in “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” now playing at the Bridge Theater in London. Distinguishing the production is an Arden Forest, envisioned by director Nicholas Hyner as a multitiered phantasmagoria populated by acrobatic fairies who twirl in air on fabric trapezes.
And it is restorative to walk out onto the Thames Path after a happy ending and a ticket price that didn’t break the bank.
To shamelessly paraphrase Shakespeare, “And farewell friends. Thus this blog post ends. Adieu, adieu, adieu.”

Magnificent overview and pictures.
How lovely.
